Simple or evolved, bright or poignant, driving or chill, the duo’s genre-defying originals tell stories of watersheds marked, lives honed and lessons grasped. Presenting a rousing mosh of early country, modern Americana, haunting songwriter, and cockeyed, warbled covers of Jimmie Davis and Michael Jackson, the pair’s live show is deliberately peppered with one-in-a-million hits that are immediately recognizable, rarely covered and sure to transport listeners to a time when agendas were pure. History
Bradt and Hilvers met while playing in a highly regarded southern rock/country band for audiences of thousands. Having produced three albums and honed his well-timbred skills for over 25 years in central Texas venues and oprys, Andy had been invited to co-lead Kenefick, a critically acclaimed group whose album rose in the Texas charts and the hearts of its fans. Suzn, a multiple award-winning writer/artist, had just joined the group on mandolin and backup vocals. The band flourished, consistently booking large venues like RodeoHouston Hideout, Main Club, Armadillo Palace and Bandera’s 11th Street Bar. It was through the stage monitors that the pair realized their harmony potential. Eight years later, the two launched for new horizons and Cul de Sac was born.
